Terms and Conditions of Service
1. Scope of Work
Ironwood Furniture Repair LLC agrees to perform services as discussed with the client, which may include (but are not limited to): furniture repair, refinishing, assembly, inspection, structural repair, cosmetic touch-ups, and restoration work.
All work will be completed to the best of our professional ability using industry-standard techniques and materials.
2. Estimates & Pricing
- All quotes are estimates only and may change based on actual labor time, hidden damage, or material requirements discovered during the job.
- Final invoices are based on actual time spent, one hour minimum, billed at the agreed hourly rate.
- Labor time is rounded up to the nearest half hour increment (e.g., 1.25 hours = 1.5 hours billed or 2.75 hours = 3 hours billed).
- Additional work requested during the job may increase the total cost.
3. Material Costs
- All necessary materials (hardware, finishes, paints, adhesives, replacement parts, etc.) will be charged in addition to labor unless otherwise specified.
- Specialty or custom-ordered parts may require pre-approval and upfront payment.
4. Deposits & Special Orders
- Certain jobs (such as part replacements or custom materials) require a deposit before ordering.
- Deposits are non-refundable once parts are ordered.
- If the client cancels after parts are ordered, they may keep the purchased items.
5. Timeframe
- Project timelines are estimates and may vary due to drying times, curing, part availability, workload, or unforeseen complications.
- Delays do not constitute a breach of agreement.
6. In-Home Work Conditions
- Ironwood Furniture Repair will take all reasonable precautions to protect the home and surrounding areas.
- The client acknowledges that some work (painting, refinishing, adhesives, etc.) may involve odors, dust, or fumes.
- The client is responsible for ensuring adequate ventilation and a safe working environment.
7. Shop Work (Drop-Off Repairs)
- Clients are responsible for transporting items to and from the shop unless otherwise arranged.
- Items left beyond 14 days after completion may be subject to storage fees.
8. Pre-Existing Conditions & Hidden Damage
- Furniture may have prior damage, structural weakness, or aged materials that can affect repair outcomes.
- Ironwood Furniture Repair is not responsible for issues arising from pre-existing conditions or hidden damage discovered during the repair process.
- Additional repairs required will be communicated and may affect pricing.
9. Cosmetic Matching Disclaimer
- While every effort is made to match colors, finishes, grain patterns, and textures, exact matches cannot be guaranteed, especially on aged, faded, or previously repaired items.
10. Minor vs. Major Damage
- Minor touch-ups may be completed during service.
- Any major structural damage or additional issues discovered may require a separate quote and approval before proceeding.
11. Warranty
- A 1-year workmanship warranty is provided on assembly and repair work.
- Warranty covers defects related to workmanship only.
Warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Misuse or abuse
- Environmental damage (humidity, heat, pets, etc.)
- Customer handling after service
12. Safety
- Safety is the top priority.
- Ironwood Furniture Repair reserves the right to refuse or stop work if conditions are unsafe or if a repair compromises structural integrity.
13. Trash & Debris
- Packaging, boxes, and debris related to work performed may be removed and disposed of.
- Only materials handled by Ironwood Furniture Repair will be removed.
14. Inspections & Reports
- Inspection services document visible damages and client-reported concerns.
- Reports are based on observations at the time of inspection and do not guarantee identification of all underlying issues.
15. Liability Limitation
- Ironwood Furniture Repair LLC is not liable for incidental or consequential damages, including loss of use, delays, or indirect damages.
- Liability is limited to the cost of the service provided.
16. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed.
- Accepted payment methods will be communicated prior to service.
- Failure to pay may result in withholding of items or additional fees.
17. Agreement
By approving service, the client acknowledges and agrees to all terms and conditions listed above.
